Fair draw in Bischofshofen
Bischofshofen Sportklub 1933 0-0 (0-0) FC Pinzgau Saalfelden
FC Pinzgau Saalfelden played out a goalless draw away to Bischofshofen Sportklub 1933 on Friday evening. The man of the match was Kilian Schröcker, who made a string of great saves to keep the Ziege crew in the game.
It developed into a very intense encounter from the first whistle in Bischofshofen. The home side had the upper hand in the opening stages and created the first opportunity early on, but Kilian Schröcker in the FC Pinzgau Saalfelden goal was alert to the danger and made an excellent save. A few moments later, Ziege’s side threatened at the other end. Jonas Schwaighofer was the architect, teeing up Christopher Fürstaller, whose shot was blocked decisively at the last moment. The tempo remained high, though it was a while before further chances came along. With slightly over half an hour on the clock, Schröcker again impressed with two spectacular flying saves. At the other end, Niklas Mühlbacher had a pop at goal from range but missed the target. Shortly before the break, Eren Adyinhan sustained a cut and had to be substituted.
The second half got off to a flying start. Tamas Tandari underlined his goal threat with a shot that flew wide of the back post, before Schröcker again found himself in the thick of the action: the goalkeeper first saved a long-range effort, then displayed lightning quick reactions to thwart a one-on-one and managed to claw a shot from the home side away from the corner. Both teams refused to budge an inch and tried to mark their mark going forward. Bischofshofen struck the upright in the closing stages, before the Ziege crew missed two gilt-edged opportunities. Despite the immense effort from both sides, the ball would not go in and the game ended goalless with the spoils shared.
STATEMENT
“We embraced the fight today and produced a very decent performance on the pitch throughout the 90 minutes. Bischofshofen were the difficult opponent we’d been expecting and demanded everything from us. Both teams had their chances. With that in mind, we can be very happy with the draw today. Kilian (editor’s note: Schröcker) was outstanding and made some wonderful saves to keep us in the game until the end,” reflected Christian Ziege.
